"Aalborg is the 8th most interesting travel destination in 2019" - The New York Times
Aalborg is a multi-faceted city - full of contrasts. A city with a lust for life and all its pleasures. It’s also grand on a manageable scale. All the major city attractions are concentrated within easy reach. From fast-paced fun to peaceful green oases. From a foaming draught beer to sublime gastronomy. From the Viking era to the Middle Ages, to an educational city. Aalborg was appointed the most livable city in the European Union.
Within the past 25 years Aalborg has become the true story of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Ugly Duckling” – the happiest city in Europe in one of the happiest countries in the world, where “Hygge” has become a world brand - this is also the reason why The New York Times has rated Aalborg number 8 on their yearly list of "52 places to Go". Clearly, the impressive transformation that the city has undergone in recent years has not gone unnoticed.
Aalborg - the 10 minute city - It is a real human scale city with everything within walking distance, where conference participants will sense full intimacy and not feel lost. Just imagine travelling to the city without stress or delay in a 10 minute traffic-free transfer from the local airport. Where else is this still possible?
When arriving, EUROCHRIE ambassadors will meet you at the airport, and guide you to your hotel. The ambassadors will make sure you are transported in a "green" way to the conference’s hotels that you can find at the “Accomodation” page. After the conference is over, the transportation to the airport is individual.
